Networking
Set up and configure MVP's network settings
WIFI
MVP can connect to wifi networks to receive updates and communicate with 4CAST's cloud servers. When setting up your MVP for the first time, you'll be prompted to connect to a network. To connect to a different network, click the wifi icon in the upper right of the UI and wait for MVP to scan for available networks. Select the network you'd like to connect to and input the password. MVP will remember known networks much like your computer, unless a network is 'forgotten' by clicking the bookmark icon next to the network name.
For security reasons, we strongly recommend only connecting your MVP to private wifi networks. If necessary to connect to a public network (i.e. a venue's public guest wifi), once finished click the bookmark icon next to the network name to forget the login, and disconnect wifi.
Ethernet
MVP's ethernet network settings are set by default to an IP of 2.0.0.111 and subnet mask of 255.0.0.0, but can be custom configured as needed to communicate with your Artnet or RTP Midi networks. Click on the cog icon in the upper right of the UI, then 'Ethernet | Artnet' to access and update network settings.
MVP can operate in static or DHCP mode. For most Artnet setups, static will be the ideal setting. However, if connecting MVP to your router via Ethernet to receive updates from 4CAST, or for more complex setups, DHCP mode allows MVP to dynamically receive an IP from the network.
MVP must detect an Ethernet connection to load and display it's network settings in the UI and on the device display. You will not be able to update settings unless an Ethernet connection is detected.
