Quick Start Guide - Videos

This guide will help you get your MVP up and running in under 5 minutes with Video triggered by MIDI Notes. Please check the GETTING STARTED section for the full MVP documentation.

For Timecode, MIDI CC Trigger Mode, or Lighting Configuration information, please refer to those guides.


1. Connect & Power Up

  1. Unbox: Open the travel case. You will find the MVP unit, USB cables, mounting screws, and a power adapter.

  1. Connect: Use the included USB-C cable to connect the MVP HOST port to your computer.

    • Note: The MVP powers on automatically via USB connection.

  2. Verify: After a few seconds, the Status Display on your MVP will light up.


2. Access the Dashboard

  1. Open Browser: On your connected computer, navigate to http://mvp.local.

  1. Connect Wi-Fi: Once the Dashboard loads, click the Wi-Fi icon in the top bar to connect your MVP to the internet. (Required for updating your MVP and downloading Stock Videos.)


3. Upload & Assign Videos

Click the Videos tab in the left-hand navigation menu to open Video Configuration.

Option A: Upload Your Videos

Enable EDIT MODE, then drag and drop your video files directly onto the upload box.

  • Supported Codecs: H.264, H.265, MJPEG, VP8, VP9

  • File Types: .mp4, .mov, .m4v, .mkv, .webm, .jpg (still image)

  • Max Resolution: 4K (30fps) or 1080p (60fps)

Option B: Download Stock Video

Don't have any videos yet? Search through half a million royalty-free videos, and download them directly to your MVP.

  1. Click the Search Stock Videos button.

  2. Type a keyword (e.g., "Ocean," "Hyper Tunnel," "Tiger," "Clouds").

  3. Select your resolution and click Download.

Assign to MIDI

Once uploaded, use the dropdown menus to assign your videos to MIDI Notes (e.g., C#-2).


4. Play Your First Clip

If Using a Laptop (DAW)

  1. Open your DAW (Ableton, Pro Tools, Logic, etc.).

  2. In your DAW's MIDI settings, enable MIDI Output to MVP.

  3. Create a new MIDI Track.

  4. Set the Track Output to MVP on the MIDI channel configured in your Video settings (default: Channel 1).

  5. Draw a note on the Piano Roll that matches your video assignment.

  6. Press Play. The video will trigger instantly.

Detailed Instructions: Triggering from a Computer (DAW)

If Using Hardware (Standalone)

  1. Connect the included Power Adapter to the MVP.

  2. Connect your MIDI Controller to the MVP via 5-Pin DIN or USB-A.

  3. Press the corresponding physical key/pad on your controller.

5. Verify

If you aren't seeing video, check the Status Display on the device or the Dashboard in your browser. It will show you exactly which MIDI note was received and which file is attempting to play.
