# Show Day Guide

The MVP is designed to be quick and simple to set up at your show and allow you to focus on everything else on your to-do list. Follow this short list to ensure a smooth show:

1. When loading in and soundchecking, set up your MVP and connect it to your MIDI source and video and/or lighting outputs and ensure its getting power either from your computer or via the PSU. Always connect all other inputs and outputs before connecting the MVP to power (via USB-C host or PSU).
2. Confirm that the MVP is receiving MIDI signal from your source by sending MIDI from your computer or hardware controller and verifying that the note is registered on the display on the top of the MVP, and the corresponding cue is playing back.
3. If applicable, power on your video display with the HDMI input the MVP is connected to selected. Once again test sending MIDI from your source and confirm that the MVP is outputting video to your screen. Pay attention to the video sizing, resolution, and quality - issues with any of these aspects may be due to settings on your screen or SDI converter, or with the video file itself. Also pay attention to the delay between your MIDI trigger and the video appearing on screen by testing moments in your set where timing is particularly important. Different set ups with longer cable runs or different display specs may produce different delay lengths which can be accommodated for by adjusting the ‘track delay’ setting of your MIDI track if using DAW playback. For specific recommendations, check out [troubleshooting](/archive-v12-userguide/resources-archive/troubleshooting.md), or try power cycling the MVP.
4. If applicable, power on your lighting package and again test MIDI signal to make sure the MVP is outputting DMX to your lights. If any cues are producing different results than intended, double check that your fixtures are assigned the correct DMX addresses to receive the appropriate signal.

Once everything is working as intended, we recommend if possible leaving the MVP, MIDI source, video screen and lights powered on and untouched between soundcheck and your performance.

For security purposes, we recommend disconnecting your MVP from any wifi before performance.
{% endhint %}
